My research in Indigenous rights and policy studies examines the policy process as an important site for the implementation of Indigenous rights as set out in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, or UNDRIP. I'm comparing COVID-19 vaccination policies in Canada and New Zealand to assess factors relevant to government implementation of Indigenous rights. The aim of the project is to generate findings of benefit for Indigenous rights advocates and decisionmakers looking to advance toward reconciliation in the policy process.
